Terms of Use

KahaaniDB is a curated database of Indian short films. We catalog films, the people who make them, and editorial context around both. We do not host video: films play through YouTube embeds or links, and your viewing of any film is governed by YouTube’s own terms of service. The information in our catalog — titles, credits, synopses, statistics, thumbnails — is drawn from publicly available sources, principally the filmmakers’ own public YouTube channels.

You’re welcome to browse, search, and keep a watchlist without creating an account. In exchange we ask that you use the site as a person, not a machine: automated scraping, bulk downloading of the catalog, circumventing rate limits or access controls, and republishing substantial parts of the database are not permitted. If you’d like to license catalog data or build on it, write to us — we’re easy to talk to.

Every film in this catalog belongs to the people who made it. Our purpose is to give Indian short films the archival respect they rarely get — never to claim them. If you are a filmmaker or rights holder and want your information corrected, updated, or removed, or you want to claim your page, contact us at hello@kahaanidb.com and we will act promptly.

Editorial notes signed “— KahaaniDB Editorial,” our curation, collection structure, and the design of this site are ours. Film stills and thumbnails remain the property of their respective owners and are shown as part of cataloging and commentary. Quoting or linking to KahaaniDB with attribution is welcome.

We work hard to keep the catalog accurate, but it is provided “as is.” Credits, dates, and statistics come from public sources that change; we correct errors when we find them or when you tell us. To the fullest extent permitted by law, KahaaniDB and its founders are not liable for damages arising from use of the site or reliance on catalog information.

We may update these terms as the service grows. The effective date above always reflects the current version, and material changes will be noted on this page.
