India makes some of the world’s best short films and web series — thousands of them, in more than a dozen languages, made by filmmakers who pour everything into twenty minutes of cinema. And then they vanish into the endless feed, filed between vlogs and cooking videos, discoverable only by luck. We didn’t think luck was good enough. KahaaniDB is a catalog that treats short-form cinema the way cinema deserves to be treated: titled, credited, searchable, and curated.
We find the best Indian short films and web series across every language, catalog them with proper credits — the directors, actors, writers and craftspeople behind each one — and curate the standouts. When you see a line signed “— KahaaniDB Editorial,”a person chose those words about that film; nothing signed is ever generated or copied from marketing copy. Films play through the filmmakers’ own YouTube channels — their views, their audience, their ownership.
Every film here belongs to the people who made it, and every person in our credits has a page because their work earned one.
